Panta rhei: everything flows… Life is change…
The very thought that change is an enemy is the true enemy…
Darwin was right: adaptability is the core competence of survival.
And ever more rapid change is the hallmark of our present age and time…
Observe how the end result of every new idea, every innovative concept, every creative process is always… solid.
An idea for a chair will get us a solid chair… An innovative concept for camera’s in phones will bring us solid phone camera’s… A creative process will bring us solid products, pieces of art, services…
It must be so. It is nature’s law.
Creative and innovative adaptability to change brought us our present organizations and our present society… In order for organizations and society to survive they too MUST change.
And yet, both organizations and society occupy themselves daily with preserving and solidifying the box in which they are, the frame within which they exist.
Outside their box innovation and creativity flow… But they forgot that they themselves originate from there, they too were once the very product of adaptability…
‘New’, innovative, creative, it all starts with moving away from the solid ground of what already is… In order to be adaptable, creative even, you MUST start with an empty canvas:
Rembrandts Night Watch is not creativity; it is the solidified end product of it, which MUST be discarded in order to move on with true innovation and creativity …
Looking at organizations, at society, at technology even, you have created a solid box. You have become prisoners of the product of past, redundant adaptability.
You are trapped in the illusion of predictability, solidity, stability, within that frame…
You are trapped in the preservation of your peace of art…
Meanwhile you are FIGHTING change, and therefore fighting life, in the process…
You have turned blind… In fact, you are dying…
Meanwhile the creative answers to the questions of today can only be found outside your box, as always. The challenges of life today cannot be met at the same level of thinking that created the solutions for yesterday…
Remember: you too MUST escape your self-imposed prison, your box, in order to move on with true innovation and creativity, in order for you to survive by truly adapting to the changes of today… and not get stuck in yesterday, forever…
Everything flows… will you? Just listening to this message won’t help you to escape the forces of demise that you have been mistaken for salvation… Only your actual breaking away from the knowledge that holds you captive will set you free from debilitating conformism…
Your next step might be your opening up to truly innovative and creative ideas for your tomorrows. Like Project iDNA for politics and society. Like Metapattern for information technology, and for government.
You may stay inside your box, holding on to yesterday’s dream. Or you can escape your box. And reconnect with creativity, innovation: with the flow of life… And refind your true self in the process, challenged by a non- conformistic dream for tomorrow. Catch yourself venturing outside your box, in the land of opportunities and innovation, and of the changes that constitute life itself….
Either way: happy dreams!
